Why Is The Oculus Quest 2 Stuck On The Boot Screen?

There are many reasons as to why the Oculus Quest 2 gets stuck on the Boot Screen.

  • A core update is being downloaded and installed. These updates happen once a month and take longer than expected time to update your device.
  • A failed device update can corrupt the firmware of the device leaving it stuck at the boot screen.
  • Low battery levels do not allow the headset to boot completely.
  • There can be a corrupted app or file stored on your Oculus device that may cause this issue.
  • Hardware issues can be caused due to overheating of the device.

Expert Recommended Steps On How To Fix Oculus Quest 2 Stuck On The Boot Screen.

Restart The Device.

The first step you need to take to ensure that the Oculus Quest 2 is working again is to reboot the device. A simple reboot also known as a Soft Reset can help fix all the temporary glitches and resolve most issues. All you have to do is press the Power Button on your headset for 10 seconds to power off the device. Wait for a minute and press the power button again until the Oculus logo appears.

Use The Oculus App To Reboot The Headset.

A quick fix is to use the mobile Oculus app to reboot the headset if the power button restart does not work.

Charge Oculus Quest 2 Headset.

Some experts have stated that a low battery on your device can cause boot problems. If the device has less power, then we recommend that you shut down the headset and charge it for at least 30 minutes. Then try to power it back on and check if it still freezes at the boot screen.

Analyze The Proximity Sensor.

There is a Proximity Sensor on your Oculus Quest 2 Headset. If there is dirt or other particles accumulated on this sensor then we need to wipe it with a clean, dry microfiber cloth. The booting issues can occur due to interference faced by the Proximity Sensor owing to any sort of covers, fingerprints, or dust.

Corrupted Update.

There have been cases where users claim that the booting issue was caused by an interference of sorts while updating the device. This could have caused corrupted updates and was resolved by simply leaving the Oculus Quest 2 headset stuck on the boot screen for an hour or so. We recommend that before you carry out a factory reset of the device, you must leave the device powered on for some time.
